Benefits of a setting out survey

A setting out survey is a a very important part any construction project as it does a number of things. This process "moves" architectural proposals from drawings onto the land itself so that workers can easily follow them during the construction process.

Key points and guide markers are put in place to ensure accurate building takes place. High rise buildings and other large-scale projects like developments require multiple setting out surveys to make sure there is continuity as the project progresses.

Using GPS coordinates, the Rock Surveying team creates a CAD drawing which sets out perfect position and levels of building lines and road alignments for a projected structure as per construction plans.

BENEFITS OF A SETTING OUT SURVEY.

CONSTRUCTION REMAINS LEGAL

The main reason for setting out is to ensure that the construction plans are within the legal land boundaries. By making use of this, there will be no legal disputes later on, such as those regarding property boundaries and rights of access.

ACCURACY

Setting out surveys enable the construction team to build exactly to the architect or engineers plans. This is because markers are physically laid out in front of them.

COST

Setting out surveys prevent unnecessary costs that can arise because of mistakes with positioning. They give reliable and accurate results making it cost-effective.

SUCCESS

As experienced setting out engineers are supplied, you can be sure that the construction job will run as smoothly as possible, increasing the chances of a successful job.
