We are delighted to welcome new Surveyor, Adam Callaghan, to our expanding team. With many years of working as a Utility Surveyor, Adam will play a crucial role in continuing to provide our clients with the very best service, no matter what their requirements are.
In his day-to-day role, Adam conducts underground surveys, on-site detection and mapping of underground utility surveys using Electromagnetic Location (EML) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) detection techniques.
We caught up with Adam to find out a bit more about his background and what he is enjoying most about being part of the Rock Surveying team.
Adam, it’s great to have you as part of the Surveying team! Tell us a bit about your background:
“I have been in the surveying industry for fast approaching nine years. My expertise lie in, but are not limited to, PAS128 surveys, EML, GPR and CCTV drainage surveys. I started in the industry as a Junior Utility Surveyor and have worked my way up to Utility Surveyor.”
What drew you to Rock Surveying?
“The opportunity to join the Rock Surveying team was one I couldn’t pass up! The company culture was something I really wanted to be a part of, and there was support and guidance in place to help me progress with my career.”
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
“I am really looking forward to making the most of the opportunities to progress and develop, through the training and qualifications available in this role. I am excited to share my own ideas to better the company’s client offerings and to ensure we are continuing to provide the very best service.”
What does the average day look like for you?
“If I could sum it up in one word, it would be busy! Working days in the surveying world are great because no two days are ever the same, which is one of the many things I enjoy about my role as it keeps things varied. Running around after my ten-year-old before and after work fills my days up, but I always like to keep myself busy!”
What do you like to do in your spare time?
“I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, whether it be going to the pub for a quick pint (now that they are open!), or a day out at a National Trust sight. I love exploring the outdoors with my son, he has a massive interest in wildlife and nature!
We are both avid skateboarders so most Saturday mornings you can find us at the local skate park. I also really enjoy cooking, and with my wife being a really good baker, meal times in our home are never dull.”
